A successful weekend of Football in Muff village
If you weren't at the Football tournament this past weekend over at the QPS grounds, were you even in Muff? A hugely successful children's football tournament took place throughout Saturday and Sunday as part of this years forthcoming Muff Feilé 2026. The football was a fundraiser for the Feilé but more importantly a weekend of memory making, family time, competition fun and experience for everyone who turned up.
The weekend has been in the planning for some time and Gareth McGuinness was at the helm. Gareth organised the weekend and put the word out to all the teams who participated. Over 60 teams from across N'Ireland and Donegal came to the village. Approximately 600 children played football this weekend on our QPS grounds. And hundreds came to watch and enjoy the festivities on those pitches. The Muff Feilé committee members and volunteers also worked tirelessly over the two days with ground management, cleaning and general help over the days. People were able to avail of hot food and snacks with The Cabin crew and refreshments in the form of ice-cream were served from Honey Bear Ice-Cream. And of course the village shops were just a short walk away.
Although the rain didn't take time to stop for long on Saturday it didn't allow for any disruption and all games went ahead, and people continued to watch. Sunday saw the weather behave much better and it really was a delightful day out.
Huge congratulations to everyone who took part and to everyone who helped out. It was a very enjoyable tournament for everyone involved.
